"The Desert Scene" or, as we jokingly refer to it "Candelas Nights," is a stunning collaborative effort between Ill Glassworks and some of the most highly respected artists in the functional glass scene--Buck, Darby Holm, Adam G, and Jason Lee. Built onto the award-winning Flux Cycler, this one-of-a-kind piece was the product of Illuzion Glass Galleries' annual 4/20 Party in 2014. Jason Lee worked his magic with millefiori, including a UV-reactive color in some of the focal marbles. Ryan "Buck" Harris created one of his sculpted cow skulls using Honey Money from Northstar Glassworks and attached it to the recycling disk. Adam "Adam G" Grafius completed the skeletal cow body with his precision shaping of the vertebrae, while Darby Holm put the finishing touches on the base with his signature dichroic green cacti. The entire event is well documented in Hot Breath Magazine vol. 13 http://issuu.com/hotbreathmagazine/docs/hb13-v6-issue, go check it out for yourself to catch the vibe of the evening!
